Josephine Pineda is Smidt Tech’s Principal in Residence and a passionate advocate for student success. A proud alumna of the first-ever graduating class of Alliance Gertz-Ressler High School, she knows firsthand the impact of a supportive, high-expectations educational environment.

Her journey is a testament to perseverance and dedication. After overcoming early challenges as an English language learner, Josephine went on to graduate from UCLA, earn a master’s from LMU, and pursue leadership roles, including Assistant Principal at Alliance MIT, where she played a pivotal role in shaping the school’s culture.

As a leader, Josephine is known for her high standards, accountability, and unwavering belief in her students. She is passionate about providing students with the tools to succeed—academically and beyond—and is committed to inspiring the next generation of learners.

With a goal of earning her PhD and continuing to serve students at the highest level, Josephine is excited to contribute to the growth and success of Smidt Tech’s students and community.
